Focusing on traditional painterly realism, using oil as her medium of choice, Arlette achieves rich, detailed light–filled interior settings and landscapes. She uses colour and strong graphic composition to evoke the pleasurable and romantic atmosphere of the home and familiar relaxed settings and surroundings.

In 2005, following a long career affiliated with printing and administrative graphic design, Arlette decides to realize her life long dream and begins to paint. What started out only as a hobby, soon evolved into a daily passion.

Artist Statement:

“Simple scenes and images that convey feelings of romance and comfort inspire me and urge me to paint”.
